What is Expected of MIET Public School Students?

  • They should be truthful, come what may?
  • At play, they should never cheat or be unfair.
  • They should not waste their time in idle gossip.
  • They should avoid vulgarity in talk and behaviour.
  • They should take pride in wearing their school uniform.
  • They should take good care of their health and be robust and strong.
  • They should stand attentively when any teacher/visitor comes to talk to them.
  • They should earn name, fame and glory for their family, school and nation through their conduct.
  • They should never hesitate to say ‘No’ when asked or tempted to do a thing which they know to be wrong.
  • They should look upon people from all parts of the world as their brethren irrespective of their colour and creed.
  • They should respect the beauty of the classroom and of the school premises and report any damage they may observe.
  • They should accept and complete whatever work is assigned to them as their rightful share. They must face difficulties courageously.
  • They should never be cruel. They must know that cruelty is the trait of a bully whereas kindness is the mark of a gentleman or a lady.
  • Instead of lamenting or cribbing about the evils of the world, they must try to contribute their share in making it a better place to live in.
  • At home, they should always be ready to lend a helping hand to their parents, brothers and sisters, in school to teachers, companions and any unattended visitor they happen to see on the school premises.
  • In the corridors and staircases of the block/wing, a courteous MIETIAN is expected to walk smartly and in a proper line.
  • They should be polite and respectful in speech to elders and to each other.

General School Rules

  • The school reserves the right to terminate the admission of a student who displays continuous unsatisfactory progress in studies or whose conduct is a bad example for others.
  • Parents or Nominees of students who do not avail the school’s transport should present themselves at the school gate 15 minutes before the start / dispersal of the school to drop / collect their wards.
  • Observance of the following is compulsory for all students and deviations will lead to issue of Discipline cards (red / yellow).
  • Every student must carry the School Diary to school every day and use it productively.
  • Uniform is compulsory during school hours and for all school functions including all such instances where students are representing the school outside.
  • Uniform must always be neat and clean. I-card is a part of the uniform and must be worn at all times.
  • Bullying and the use of foul language are punishable offences, whether in or out of school. Students found using the same will be strictly penalised.
  • Students are not allowed to bring any weapons or sharp instruments, such as blades, knives, paper – scalpels, scissors etc to school.
  • Damaging or disfiguring any school property may result in expulsion from school.
  • Students are prohibited from bringing any publication, reference books, CD or other storage devices like floppies, pen drives or I-pods, not relevant to academic pursuits.
  • Bringing excessive money, mobile phones, watches, cameras, expensive pens, pencils, pencil box or jewellery etc., to school is strictly forbidden. The school is not responsible for any loss or theft.
  • Exploding crackers on any occasion or splashing colors during Holi in the school premises or in school buses is strictly forbidden.
  • It is mandatory for all students, unless instructed otherwise to be present for festivals and functions celebrated in and outside the school.
  • The school is committed to protecting the environment and expects its students to be environment friendly in all their actions. The use of poly-bags (plastic bags) is, therefore, strictly prohibited in the school and students should consciously avoid their use for any purpose.
  • Girls with long hair must plait their hair. Hair-band is a part of the uniform and it must be worn by all girl students in the school campus, inside the bus and outside the school campus while representing school.
  • Colouring or bleaching of hair is not permitted. Girls are advised to abstain from nail colours or Henna however essential it may be.

Absence from School

  • Student absent on the previous day will not be allowed to attend class without a valid application stating the reasons for the absence in the ‘Record of Non-Attendance’ section of the School Diary, for each day the student has been absent from school. In case a child reports to school without an explanation in School Diary, then the parents will be summoned to the school to take their ward back.
  • There is no provision for half day leave, so students who are not well should not be sent to school even on exam/test days.
  • A student, returning to school after suffering an infectious or contagious disease, should produce a doctor’s fitness certificate permitting her/him to attend school.
  • Students, who require medical attention during school hours, may be sent to the school Infirmary by the teacher concerned, who will enter the nature of the complaint and sign the ‘School Infirmary Record’ section of the School Diary.
  • Parents will be promptly informed in the event of serious illness or emergencies and may be requested to come to school to take their ward home, if necessary.
  • Repeated absence without notice or unexplained absence without written application for more than six consecutive days renders the student liable to have her/his name struck off the rolls. Re-admission may only be granted after payment of a re-admission fee.
  • All students are expected to attend school on the opening day following the vacations. Absence on the day of reopening of the school will attract strict disciplinary action.

Late Arrival in School

  • Students are expected to reach school 10 minutes before the start of the morning assembly. Students arriving late will not be allowed to enter the school premises without a plausible explanation.
  • Arriving late for school is not acceptable. Students found to have come late for more than one day in a term will not be allowed to attend classes on second such occurrence and disciplinary action will be taken against them.
Please Note: As the medium of instructions is ENGLISH, students attending the School are expected to speak only in English especially when they are within the School campus.
